Attempts To Take Guns on Airplanes

The number of attempts with people taking guns on planes is outrageous especially after one of the worst terrorist attacks in America; September 11, 2001. People are still trying to take guns, knives and other items that seem to be dangerous in their carryon bags. I’m from Texas and believe in guns and protecting yourself with taking different measures but there are rules and limitations you have to obey. “As of November 2, 2011 there has been over 900 guns recovered during the normal checks before boarding planes” from CNN News. Some people say they forget they had it in their bags which lead to Homeland Security boosting up their daily searches. Their budgets have increased by 68% since 2004 with the passenger levels staying the same. These problems could easily keep people and security officers off the edge and maybe keep the terrorist threat down. To me its common sense not to take guns, knives or any other kind of threat to innocent people lives. I’m not trying to push guns off to be bad but there is a time and place of where and when you can have them on yourself and planes to me are not one of them places. If I was a passenger on the plane with a person who supposedly forgot they had a gun in their carryon bag I wouldn’t feel as safe. My mind would be wondering if so what was their intention and how can you forget you have a gun? It wouldn’t be a peaceful trip because when your thousands of feet up in the air with nowhere to go what would you do? You can’t call the law, you can’t just land the plane, you can’t just run to the other side and it’s just a scary fact that there are people out there that don’t take this into consideration.
