Sister Wives

Sister Wives and Complications
I have read this blog that interests me about what is on TLC that is Sister Wives. This blog is very interesting on how four women are married to one man! It is completely nuts in my opinion! Meri is his first wife then he has Janelle, Christine and his new wife Robyn. They were kicked out of their Utah home and forced to move to Las Vegas, Nevada. These people were the first to televise the inside of the polygamy in the Christian way in their own belief. I watch this show every Sunday night on TLC just to see how these ladies aren’t jealous, or upset all the time and still raising the kids. It’s a very different lifestyle to what I’m used to. I’m all for doing what you believe in even if I don’t understand it. Meri strikes me of somewhat like I am. Willing to help out until she just can’t anymore; to me she’s the back bone of the Brown Family. She helped pick out her sister wives and has struggled with several different life decisions. In Las Vegas they got a separate home instead of living in one big house. This I think helped her with issues. This lifestyle isn’t one that I would live or choose due to the stress, jealousy, financial responsibility or sharing my husband. It makes me think they are a stronger woman than I am because of the situation but it also makes me realize that they put themselves in this position. Watching this show you can tell each one gets jealous in their own little way especially with the new forth wife Robyn having a baby, their first one together. Meri seems closer to Robyn then the other wives. Since, this show Sister Wives has aired, in their second season; more people are starting to come out and showing the different beliefs in this polygamy lifestyle. Not everyone is like the colts that force young girls to marry. These women will tell you they don’t believe in this! I’m open minded about things and just like every other person in America. I just want to see how this stuff works and learn about it. Just like figuring out a new phone!

Reactions in Youth Sports

Reactions in Youth Sports
Today there are youth councils that get together and people dedicate their time and patience to put together all the sports that children love to play. For example, you have soccer, baseball, t-ball, softball, basketball and little league football. With this you have your certain board members that concentrate on one particular sport to make it very simple to the rest of the board members. Well then you have your games where parents are put their child in every sport they can play or try to play. It helps the kids interact with one another learn about the sport and to teach the children several things about life. Some people forget though that these leagues are developed to help the children be active physically and mentally. The town where I live we do our leagues by volunteer base only no one gets paid and what money is raised is used on supplies for the sports for the kids. Youth leagues provide a lot of business to your community with bringing in other towns to play at your fields and teach the kids how to play against other teams that they will face hopefully in junior high and high school sports. Unfortunately, all this can go wrong with parents who try to live their dream and career out in their children. Occasionally, you do have parents causing scenes in front of other children, threatening children and just causing fights. This happens at most of the games I’ve ever attended, played or officiated. This makes it where the children don’t want to play sports anymore because it takes the fun out of the game. Who wants to play when they aren’t having fun? I don’t!
I am a volunteer at the local Youth Council as Softball Commissioner. I seen while umpiring the sport that there was a lot of conflict with coaches being the commissioner and there were few kids playing the sport. The age groups were all combined together which made it harder for the ones coming up out of coach pitch to play the sport. Who really wants to play against the older team and get beat all the time? Not me! It’s not fun being the losing team so the team would just forfeit the remainder of the game. This is setting a message out to those kids that quitting is okay when the going gets tough and quitting is okay when things aren’t right. Well later in life they will want to think the same way! Quitting was never an option growing up! You worked hard no matter how tough things were or could have gotten. It makes you a stronger person inside and out.
Parents who try to force their children make things a lot worse. They force their kids who don’t want to play sports play them which isn’t a good thing in my eyes; because there is the screaming and yelling at the kids due to the game not being interesting to them. Parents tell their kids to hurt other kids to get back at them when something happens as an accident. Parents also cursing and using vulgar language in front of fans, kids and the whole town especially parent’s who is a Preacher. We had an incident here this past year in soccer that kids were playing a pretty close game; the opposing team that was behind by one point the Preacher of the First Baptist Church here was yelling at the kids to kick the winning team kids in the face! Was that ethical? It was totally uncalled for! Especially being a man of God and being a positive role model in the town screaming and yelling kick the kids in the face and vulgar language. This makes it where the games are no longer fun and then it becomes physical. Someone could have gotten hurt really bad! It makes it harder to face that team again in a later game because what if some mother bear would have remembered this incident and it would be crazy if she didn’t and her kid or another kid was to get hurt. What kind of liability would the city, youth council or parent is responsible for this matter? Would you allow your kid to play against them in a later game? Would you be making a law suit on the Preacher man for telling the kid to do so? Why are parents like this? Why can’t kids just have fun and learn from the game? There was a meeting after this matter and there was a game a month down the road where these two teams would play again with each other and the board came to conclusion not to allow this game to precede it. Due to the first game not having good issues what would make the second game any better? The youth council board came to conclusion that it would be safe for all parties involved to just have some other team to play. Once the coach meeting was called to order the coach in question was still upset about it and was not letting anything go. To me this meant he was still upset and if there was going to be a game between the two teams this matter could take place again then it would be our faults for even allowing this to happen with the threats that were made.
These types of things aren’t only in small rivalry towns they happen all over the United States and elsewhere. Coaches are giving kids steroids! One why would you start a kid on something like that? Second doctors do this not coaches! What makes any of this right? Some people think that this helps creating great athletes and I think it does nothing but destroy a kid’s chance at a career or damaging a perfect body! Little League Baseball, Incorporated, is obligated by its charter to advance the health and welfare of children. This was founded in 1939; Little League has provided wholesome and healthy athletic competition to tens of millions of children. They not only create athletes but helping create good citizens. The leagues teach teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play is values to be carried forward to adulthood. Parents should talk to their children and the damages it can do to your body about taking steroids. Let them know that abuse of steroids and their precursors is wrongs, has serious health consequences and it’s tantamount to cheating. Little League has educational information about any use of this or other subjects relevant to the health and well-being of child athletes through ASAP (A Safety Awareness Program). Seven thousand local league programs play under the same rules and regulations. The dangers of using anabolic steroids can destroy the child in question by leading further into drug abuse, serious health problems or death. Why put any child through this? If a child needs enhancement get out of the house and play or work with them! The kids of America need not to suffer but learn! That is how America became free! We work hard for what we want and what we do.
Parents at a football game have a fight that got physical over a score in September of 2010. “This woman just started punching her and continued to punch her,” a witness stated. “According the deputy, they both had children in the game on opposite sides. Whatever the argument was about, it had nothing to do with them personally or any issues that occurred between the two of them. It was about the game.”(Campbell). After this fight, witnesses watched 31-year old Chrishona Burrows drive away, leaving the victim, 30-year old Miranda Gregory, called police. Officers tacked down Burrows with a description of her car and took her to jail while Gregory, was to Mease Dunedin Hospital.(Campbell). What was the outcome of this? What did these ladies teach their children? Nothing but how to be a bully! This is how things are messed up in little league and makes it where the kids don’t want to play the sport when they are the ones having to be responsible. Parent’s need to learn how to be more mature and learn how to handle things and quit trying to live through their kids and let the kids be kids!
In Maryland, there was another incident with the parents on opposing teams were yelling at one another. This makes it harder on the umpires to control the fans and the situation. The mothers of a seven and eight year old where making threats to a thirteen year old about “slash” who just try to intervene. (Prada). I umpire girls’ softball and making any kind of threats or getting out of control you are to call the police to come help remove the people causing problems so it’s not distracting the kids trying to play ball. If there is a threat made to an umpire it is a felony. If you touch an official you can face jail time. The laws are very strict when it comes to certain things and it’s just best to keep your attitude under control. Always remember, that there are kids around and to watch what you say because they are our future!
In Colorado, there were three parents including the town prosecutor with third degree assault and disorderly conduct after a brawl during a youth baseball tournament this past June. Putting a player in a hospital! This particular fight consisted of at least six adults during a game for twelve year-olds and the police were still trying to sort out what started this fight and who all was involved. The boys also got into a dispute, and a lady claimed her son was (attacked by one of the parents) in a chokehold and punched him. The boy was sixteen and eventually hospitalized with a concussion. They try and turn the story around saying they were defending their own child.(Huff Post). This just shows that parents are a huge problem in today’s little league problems. This is just a few of the incidents that have happened just in the last year! Shows that we need to do something about this matter!
With all of this said we need to get some kind of proposal to all the parents, players, coaches and any fans that we need to be more about the kids and less about ourselves. We need to keep this from happening! The kids are the ones who suffer! They need to be kids not adults yet. I believe if everyone who was to read some of these stories and sees how far this can go to destroying a kid’s life along with a career, maybe it just might help get the message through to some of these people. It’s crazy on how a person with such a high power job can be so immature on something like this! It’s a game! This is for the kids! I hope that with me being involved in my towns’ youth council I can help prevent incidents in the sport I’m involved in. Last year was pretty bad and I was just an umpire. I had people trying to chase me down the fence line talking trash to me and my partner umpire. It’s childish and would just hope that people would think before they act or speak!

Global Warming

Global Warming
Climate change is a big topic in today’s time! There are several different things that people have that can harm the planet and things people do that can harm the planet. The government has made a big deal about this issue to fully aware people that global warming can make a difference in how things affect us. The IPCC which is Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which is more than twenty five hundred scientists and other experts that wrote reports on global warming. The final assessment of the climate change they realized that “warming could lead to some impacts that are abrupt or irreversible, depending upon the rate and magnitude of the climate change.”  There are warming temperatures, heat waves, heavy rains, droughts, stronger storms and biodiversity. With all these different things can end up changing how we live and what all Mother Nature can do to us. Global warming has become a big topic especially when Al Gore made it a top priority and writing a book. It has made more people more cautious about the future and trying harder to protect the earth. There are more earth day’s and recycling than what I remember when I was younger. My personal opinion is whatever happens, happens and there is nothing we can do about it. Mother Nature is a lot powerful than we will ever be and one thing I wouldn’t want to pick a fight with. Texas is in one of the worst droughts in history it makes me wonder if this is part of what these scientists are talking about. Is there really a way we can fix this from happening? Or will it happen not matter what all we do?

People and Their Decisions
Today people have the rights and freedom to do as they please. Unfortunately, we have rights that seem to affect other people and their beliefs. People judge people for no specific reason and I believe it’s not our right to judge, and at the end of time it isn’t really up to us. Women who become pregnant and don’t want to keep the fetus isn’t really up to us we aren’t the ones having to raise it. Also, women who have a problem getting pregnant the normal way are getting eggs planted by doctors and are able to get pregnant. Technology has come a long ways. The views and opinions of everyone else have made it a hot topic. My opinion is not to judge the situation unless you have been in their shoes and then decide, but not judge it’s not out place! My questions are would you want somebody raising you that didn’t want you to begin with? Or would you like to be with somebody who loves and adore children and can provide for you? I honestly think that neither the government nor anyone should tell you what you can or cannot do on such a life changing decision.
Everyone has their views on people getting abortions. Is it really their choice to make? I think it’s a life decision to raise a child that was not planned or won’t get treated with the love a child needs. I feel like the kids that cause lots of problems feel like they were neglected and abused. Could this be why crime rates are up? Could this by why there seems to be so much hatred in the world today? Because a person decided to have a child because of the guilt of getting an abortion and what people would think of her. With technology today women can have kids that have issues with getting pregnant through natural ways. They have the knowledge to inject the sperm in the egg and implant it in the woman’s uterus to grow an embryo. They also have adoption and foster parents for people to have children to. I think all of these ways for people to have children but it makes you think why get an abortion? What kind of legal rights do you have if you choose abortion? Does the father have rights to choose against it? Can kids under 18 years of age have an abortion without parents’ consent? What does the government say about it in debate?
Abortion to me unlike some people is a big decision that changes a life. The woman who generally get abortions have part time jobs, no health insurance, already parents that only have $30 left from their paycheck and spend it on food for the family or birth control pills. Some also get abortions from domestic poverty, domestic violence rape, inset, AIDS, homelessness or hopelessness. These are all from WRRAP foundation that helps women during this rough time. WRRAP stands for Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project, this is a foundation that is ran by volunteers and the money that is raised is spent on helping women with nowhere else to turn to.
By the statistics from WRRAP only 17 states provide financial aid; 14 of them do so under court order. With these crazy statistics 50% of chief-residents have no clinical experience in doing this procedure or training for a life-saving abortion. Over 54% of unwanted pregnancies are the result of failed birth control. Between the years of 1994 and 2000 the overall abortion rate dropped 11%, but the rate for poor women increased 7%. The United States abortion providers decrease 2% between the years of 2000 and 2005. There are fewer doctors each year who know how to help, and doctors that are even willing. With WRRAP help 1000 women who could not afford the abortions. In order to get help from WRRAP you have to be at least 10 weeks pregnant to even get help.
Children are able to get an abortion under the age of 18 in some states. Few states allow this. There are different laws into the abortion rights, but that allows it where the parental consent is not allowed. This makes it very scary in my eyes! The states that go through the judicial system a judge consent the minor has to give the following information in order to get an abortion, is the minor mature, is the minor emancipated and is the abortion in the best interest of the minor. The court must hear the case then in a short time usually 3 to 4 days. If the court has problems or any other questions they are going to have to appeal it and then try again. Majority of the time these cases don’t take months like a criminal case, because with this you only have so long before you can get an abortion before it’s too late. Parents of a pregnant teenager cannot force them into having an abortion or placing the fetus up for adoption. The only exception to this is if the pregnant teen’s life is in danger due to a medical emergency. The teen’s parents then have the right to permit an abortion against the teenager’s wishes. In these cases having a lawyer/attorney is not mandatory, but having one will make the communications and process a lot easier.
Fathers of these unborn children do NOT have any rights or say so in the abortion topic. This is all on the woman who is pregnant. The father has no legal rights. The Supreme Court has made it easier for the women to go through this process without making it any harder than it already is. My luck would be if there were any rights towards the father of course they would want the baby at first and then what if he changes his mind. It’s not cool anymore or having second thoughts about raising this child. The father can up and leave or wait 9 months to make a commitment. The woman is the one who sacrifices more time and the body in order to raise this child. It just doesn’t seem fair to me to give someone more rights when it’s not their body that will be the one suffering. I know this is their child to, but you have to be smart and think of the future to. Some people would call this selfish I would call it being smart. With every decision we make through our whole lives will always have somewhat of a sacrifice later on or at the present time. We live and learn from them. Today there are so many young kids getting pregnant at such an early age, and it just seems so natural and ok. My sister was pregnant at the age of 15 and had a baby we considered the abortion but it was too late. The baby was already six months no one would even try to do it at that stage. The father was a low life bum and still doesn’t have a job or support any of his children that he was with several other girls! Is there any way the government can get people like that fixed?
Between the years of 1969 and 1973, tens of thousands of women and men held hundreds of protests across the United States, making women’s rights to choose a central demand for the women’s liberation movement. We need activism to build that kind of movement and link it to the right to choose with full reproductive rights for all women. People live lives that are completely out of sync with the so-called family values of the Christian Right. Making one out of every three women today has an abortion and means that most people know someone who has needed one. The pro-choice movement should be fighting everything the Christian Right stands for. A movement that defends the right to abortion without apology will find millions of people on its side.
Today’s life in the real world with politics Republicans are normally against abortions and Democrats aren’t technically for it but don’t pass that much judgment towards it. In the political debates democrats are pushing Mitt Romney to the discussing of reproductive rights in a bid to raise doubts among women. Romney says that “life begins at conception.” In 2005 Romney changed his view on abortion rights. Representative Michele Bachmam of Minnesota also says “life begins at conception.” In October they introduced a bill in congress to require women considering an abortion to have an ultrasound and listen to the fetal heartbeat. Declining to comment on what Bachmam spokeswoman called “state-issues.” Governor Rick Perry of Texas also declined to comment. In my opinion to decline any comments would be the best part because to me that can make or break you. Especially with the way votes go in today’s world. Today’s political views are different then what they used to be.
Women’s reproductive rights are legal rights and freedoms relating to reproduction and reproductive health. Being a woman is tough! I personally think that all women deserve the right to decide what they want to do with their body. It’s theirs they are sacrificing not anyone else. So there should be no reason why anyone else should be involved. I also believe that today there are too many people trying to nosey their way into other people’s problems and issues. They should just worry about what they need and nobody else and I think the things with the reproductive rights would be a lot easier.
In my conclusion don’t judge anyone until you’ve walked a mile or so in their shoes. A lifelong lesson I’ve learned growing up. Not everything in life is going to be easy if so there wouldn’t be a single person who would have to work for what they have or had. One thing I do say about abortions they can make life easier and tough at the same time. Unfortunately, life doesn’t have a rewind button, pause or fast-forward so we just have to make life the best we can. Abortion does have supporters and protestors just like everything else. It is a life decision that you have to make and do what’s best for you and your lifestyle. People don’t think of it that way! They just call people baby killers and what not. That is very much the truth but it is a responsibility you have to make. I know a girl that had an abortion and she’s perfectly fine with it and now has a little girl and another one on the way. Just at the time it was too much for her to handle with school, work and just life in general. I don’t think it’s a selfish thing to do. I think it’s a very hard decision! I think it’s protecting someone from being at a place where they are not loved or wanted. Because really who wants to be that out of place person? Not me.

The Corn King

The Corn King
It is truly amazing on how much we rely on one crop that basically does nothing for the human body or the animals for meat. President Bush signed a farm bill to help the farmers out on the crop that costs more than it is actually worth. The government is making several different things with corn which makes the prices sky rocket everywhere else. Everything that we eat today basically has so kind of corn or corn byproducts in it. This is making the people prone to obesity and Type 2 diabetes. Why do we have to pay more when corn is the cheapest commodity and loses money?
With as many overweight Americans we need to come to a stand point and make life changing decisions for ourselves and our future to make better decisions by not letting our government poison our bodies with this wasteful product that does nothing but make us sick! The University of Minnesota ran a study on how the corn is made into high-fructose corn syrup is metabolized different than other sugars making it harmful.  With corn you have to treat it with more fertilizers and pesticides than any other food making the run off of this into our ground water and then into rivers harming the water making it toxic. If we didn’t spend so much money on this corn bill for farmers we wouldn’t be so much in debt. In order to keep corn well fed and safe from predators with chemicals that poisons our water and deepens our dependence on foreign oil. Without the bill to save corn crops we would probably be able to do everything here ourselves instead of relying on other countries to do it for us! It would also be cheaper for us!

http://calebnuckels.blogspot.com/. Couldn't Post a comment so here it is!

I agree with you about the government using the corn for numerous amounts of things and it driving the prices up everywhere. I work in a feed store and the price of corn drives everything up even dog food. The government has so much relying on corn that it drains the American people. I believe that the government makes these laws and changes which hurt us Americans. The obesity rate here in America is high! That is why you see so much on television on people trying to lose weight. Corn is just filler to the human body just like it is to an animal, which is why to me it’s pointless to be so expensive for a commodity that does nothing for you. Just so the economy can rip people off on the byproducts that they can make from corn.

Obamacare in the GOP Campaign
The government in the trouble it’s in especially financially our healthcare is a big mess. The government has come up with a plan on trying to make us Americans use and obey by their rules and regulations and how we see fit. This is completely outrageous! The media, e-mails and other things has been sent out to people explaining how crazy this healthcare bill that passed is. I can’t believe that this bill passed before anyone was able to read it. I believe to that if we Americans have to live by it then the congress should to. The whole idea of making laws and better ways of living is if it’s not good enough for congress then it shouldn’t be good enough for the rest of us. Why only exempt them?
In my opinion politics aren’t what they used to be. Today there are so many things that people worry about all these different parties that you can be democrat, republican and liberal. Politics play a big part in today’s society with how they want to control everything and what they think they know best for the people of America. President Obama thinks that this healthcare bill is the break for a new era, but my personal opinion if you wouldn’t put your children on it then it’s not good enough for the people who trust in you as a president! Healthcare is a big deal with not only me but for everyone else. Medicaid and Medicare only help the elderly and the lower income families. So the insurance is what helps the others out and with rates going up, the deductibles sky rocketing, the limitation to use of it and it not being accepted everywhere.
The Republican presidential candidates tell what they really think about this healthcare plan and how they would demolish this plan and put in a cheaper health care that will boost economic growth and develop more jobs for the people. The Republican Party view on this Obamacare is myth-making that may raise false hope for voters. Mitt Romney has been persistent about freeing the states from the law’s requirements with an executive order first day in office. Rick Perry‘s view is to lower health insurance premiums once the law is gone. Herman Cain views are to sign the repeal on March 23, 2013 if congress passes it. Signing the repeal the Republican Party thinks that it be able to grow the economy and jobs, and noting the overhaul’s myriad regulations and overselling the ability of one act of the legislative subtraction to lift all boats.
Mitt Romney states “One thing I’d do on Day One if I’m elected president is direct my secretary of health and human services to put an executive order granting a waiver from Obamacare to all 50 states. It is bad law. It will not work. And I’ll get that done on Day One.”-Claim in Sept.7 debate, which he echoed in most other debates (Woodward, Zaldivar).
Rick Perry states “And I’ll promise you, on Day One, as the president of the United States, that executive order will be signed and Obamacare will be wiped out as much as it can be.”-Sept. 7 debate (Woodward, Zaldivar).
Herman Cain states “I’m going to un-pass it on my son’s birthday.” Nov. 2-forum with the GOP’s Congressional Health Care Caucus. (Woodward, Zaldivar).
Michelle Bachmann sates “With all due respect…issuing an executive order will not overturn this massive law.” Sept. 7 debate. (Woodward, Zaldivar).
Unfortunately out of all these statements Michelle Bachmann is correct and it’s not the first time she has proven her rivals on the matter.
We think or at least I do, think that Presidents are like the king and queens in other countries which they kind of are, but they aren’t exactly able to change things as fast as they want to or say they are going to. That is what the house, legislature and speakers are there for to make everything as fair as possible and to have votes on the topic. A president cannot overturn a law with an executive order. Moreover, the health law lays out an onerous process for letting individual states off the hook from its requirements; that process cannot begin until 2017. (Woodward, Zaldivar). In order for a state to be granted a waiver it has to provide coverage that is at least comprehensive and affordable as under the federal law. The state has to insure a comparable number of its residents, and its plan must not add to the federal deficit by shifting costs to Washington. The state has to enact to its own health law setting up the system envisioned in its waiver request. (Woodward, Zaldivar).  Romney’s implies that all states would want to get out of the health care law. That’s doubtful proposition for Democratic-leaning states. Cain recognizes that for the law to be repealed. Congress must act, but presidents don’t set the congressional calendar and even if Republicans can secure a 60-vote majority that gives them control over the Senate. (Woodward, Zaldivar). This strategy to undermine the law by starving it of money and it’s only real if Republicans win congressional majorities as well as the presidency or at the very least a rash of improbable Democratic defections in Congress. (Woodward, Zaldivar). This Obamacare is not a single day project it’s a threat to Obama’s law and a political risk. Budgeting is a big deal and going beyond this matter is repeal in the law. This law extends coverage to uninsured citizens and legal immigrants to provide tax credits to help the middle-class households to buy a policy and by expanding Medicaid for low-income people; requiring all people to carry health insurance either through an employer, a government program or by individual purchase. It would set up health insurance markets in every state to make it easier for individuals and small business to buy coverage and is financed through tax increases and Medicare cuts.
With all this said the healthcare bill really could make or break us and it’s not really giving us what is all in the bill. Are we still going to be able to be treated if we have cancer? Is the government going to have control on how we will be treated under circumstances that are serious? The government’s involvements in health insurance kind of keep me from wanting the bill to go any further. The Republicans I believe will help keep this from happening and it will be better for our country. The Democrats seem to control the whole situation and wants to run the show. It just shows you that with three nominees running for President wants to cancel and abolish this healthcare bill just shows that it isn’t really a good enough to serve the rest of us. Like I said earlier if the bill excludes the senate and congress people then it’s not good enough for us either. There are reasons behind why this is such a big deal with the American people nothing about it seems fair or right.
